Joanna has written 'Squad Safe', to help everyone in cheer have the most fulfilling experience and achieve their best.

Whilst cheer was the springboard for this book, many of the recommendations apply to safeguarding in all sports making this discussion relevant to all athletes (grassroot and elite), parents and caregivers, coaches and teachers.

Since the launch of 'Squad Safe' in February 2025, people involved in sport are already examining their approach to safeguarding and well being, aiming for the highest standards to ensure that everyone involved is safe and protected on the mat and beyond.
